Key to a joyful adventurous life:

The dynamic practice of attachments  to growth

and detachments to decay

In nature, almost all things (animate & non-animate) undergo growth and decay.

Most of the living things avoid decayed food while the same decayed food will become a fresh food to some of the insects - thereby revealing the relative dimension of growth and decay.

A human being from his/her birth to death experiences so many growths and decays in their social relations and the natural environment.

Also in nature anyone attached to a thing going down will also go down, and go up when attached to a thing going up.

Freeing ourselves, for the time being, from all of our mental conditioning, we will observe that all the ups and downs in our life were related to our attachments to the ups and downs (in the case of our family, friends, ideology, party, other kinds of social relations, social trends, etc).

Those moving up in any one of the domains like family, job, etc were enjoying the results of their intelligent detachment from the related decaying things and simultaneous attachment to the growing things WITHOUT HESITATION.

Also ups and downs are relative and have their own price tags.

Sacrificing human values to go up in wealth may have a price tag of going down in other domains like family, etc in terms of peace and happiness.

In fact above a threshold level in wealth, people have to be unusually alert and vigilant to move with other wealthy ‘sharks’ to avoid going down in wealth and hence are cursed.

But to those focusing on ups in terms of peace and joy, the dynamic practice of attachments to the growth and detachments to the decay, not minding other bearable downs (in wealth, etc) will itself become a joyful adventurous life.
